The gonad maturity level of kawakawa (Euthynus affinis) landed at Tanjung Beringin’s auction place Serdang Bedagai Regency of North Sumatra

Abstract Kawakawa (Euthynnus affinis) is one of the economically valuable species for Mallaca strait fishermen. This study aims to determine level gonad maturity, size fish’s first ripe gonad, and maturity index (E. caught at Tanjung Beringin’s Auction Place, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra. Three months sampling were conducted, from July September 2021. The maturation gonads was observed morphologically. GMI analyzed based on a comparison between weight body weight. Male female levels are determined by I, II, III, IV. ranged 0.0053% 4.556%, while 0.0032% 5.181%. mature measured 407.77 mm 404.53 mm.
